Objectives of Workshop

It is well known fact that skills development along with other supportive measures for the informal sector is of vital importance and requires fast solutions with broad impacts in close cooperation between Government, NGOs and the private sector.With this in mind, the workshop is planned to provide forum for skill training providers/educators, development specialists and others interested in strengthening and activating the informal sector to exchange and share information and experiences and to discuss strategies for coping with the present and future demands of skill development and training for employment and income generation. The specific aims of the workshop are to

• Share good practices on skill development for the informal sector in state
• Develop a vision on how skills development through the informal stream can contribute to sustainable economic and social development
• Draw framework and strategies on the provision of effective training services for the informal sector, and
• Provide a platform for net working of stakeholders promoting entrepreneurship development for the informal sector.
